Inline skating is a great indoor as well as outdoor sport for recreation or fitness workout. Inline skates come in different sizes and varieties. They have a line of wheels located one behind another in a single line, thus the name inline skates. The right equipment is a necessity for any sport to be enjoyed well. Here are a few tips to help you buy the right pair of inline skates.
There are various factors which affect the type of skates you plan to buy such as:
Cost – A good pair of skates means more money to be spent for the quality. Buying a pair of cheap skates will result in them breaking or you finding the sport cumbersome. Indulge in buying a good pair to help you learn and enjoy the sport well, even if it means spending a bit more.
Age – The age of the person also matters while buying a pair of in line skates. If they are being bought for a child, adjustable kind should be bought. These can be adjusted as the child’s foot grows thus saving you the cost of buying another pair when the child outgrows the present size.
Skill – The skill of the person buying the pair of skates needs to be taken into consideration. For instance, a beginner needs to emphasize on a pair having good quality of brakes, so that they can prevent injuries and learn well. For an accomplished skater, a pair which offers a fast and comfortable ride is preferred.
Brake – Finally it also depends on whether a braking feature is a necessity or not. For beginners brakes are recommended to minimise the risk of falls and injuries. Without brakes, one would have to stop by making a 90 degree angle with your back foot to the front foot. This is called a T- stop and may wear off the wheels eventually. Hence skates with brakes are advised.
